Location:

Sri Krishna Institution of Technology is located in far north western region of Bangalore in Chikkabanavara. The college is not that easily accessible as the BMTC bus stop is on the main road and one has to walk for a couple of minutes to reach the institution. Bus frequency is not great and most of the students prefer to travel by their respective two wheelers. Some choose to travel by local trains as Chikkabanavara railway station is at stones’ throw distance from the college.

Infrastructure:

Adorably called as SKIT, the college have an impressive infrastructure & plantation in the small campus. As it’s located on an upslope hill, the view of the college building from the gate grabs your attention immediately. Despite having spacious classrooms, there are only a couple of fans, some of which don't work. Thankfully, there are no electricity problems.  Wooden benches aren't broken and comfortable enough to sit. Library has abundance of books for all the streams. There is wifi connectivity only in the canteen but students can't access it as the management has not given the password thus making the purpose of wifi internet useless. There is a parking lot right at the entrance of the college where you see a lot of boys doing time pass.
There is hostel facility for both boys and girls but not in the campus. Rental charges are around Rs. 45,000 per year which includes mess food. Facilities are definitely not up to the mark but students have adjusted to that kind of living.
Fees:

For Karnataka CET students: Rs. 41,590/- per year
For UGET (COMEDK) students: Rs. 1.4L per year
Faculty:

At SKIT, you can expect 60% good professors and the remaining not upto the mark. Experienced faculty are seen in the mechanical department and thus it turns out to be the best department of this college. Students call it as the ‘royal department’. You’ll meet enough fresher teachers who don’t even have industrial experience. Information Science is equally good but ECE is the worst of the lot. Despite all this, teachers are friendly and easily approachable and thankfully lectures are conducted in English.
Attendance & Discipline:

Sri Krishna Institute of Technology follows the strict 85% attendance norm imposed by the VTU and 10% relaxation is granted. So a student has to maintain 75% failing which, he/she has to pay a fine. In worst cases, parents are called and/or student is suspended. Detaining is never seen in this college.
Crowd:

SKIT has a good and healthy ratio of boys to girls and is friendly with each other. Almost 70% of the students come from Bangalore and other regions of Karnataka while the rest are seen from North, especially North East. Students participate in extra curricular activities and focus on academics when exams are around.
Canteen:

Canteen serves some awesome delicacies like Gobi Manchurian and Fried Rice, which are the hot favourite among these students, at highly economical rates. Variety is good, quality and taste is nice and the canteen is well spaced.

Hangouts:

Well you can see a lot of students going to the Rockline Mall on Hesaraghatta Main Road where there’s a food court. Non veg lovers are seen hogging fried chicken at Yuva and Carribean. Not the best location in terms of hangout, SKIT students still manage their way out.

Festival:

Phoenix, inter collegiate festival of Sri Krishna Institute of Technology, is held in the first week of March.
Placements:

Infosys, Unisys and IBM are the companies that you see at Sri Krishna Institute of Technology during the recruitment season. Most of the times students go for pool campus placement to Acharya Engineering College or Sapthagiri College of Engineering. Mahindra, Satyam and Aditi Techno are the companies that recruit students from the mechanical department. Average salary is Rs. 3 lakhs per annum while 50% to 60% students get placed from every batch.

Verdict:

Average crowd, just about average placements and good canteen makes Sri Krishna Institute of Technology a good bet for an average scorer in the entrance exam. There are certainly better choices when it comes to engineering institutions in Bangalore.
